How do A Cappella Club Auditions work?
General Auditions for the A Cappella Club happen on the first Tuesday of each semester from 7:00-10:00pm in the Varsity Theater WSC. There, you'll start by filling out a short form telling us about your musical experience, voice part, and other skills/interests you have related to a cappella (ie. arranging, choreographing, recording, social media etc.).
For the audition, you will sing a short 30 sec. solo of your choosing and then we will check your range. The directors of the club's 11 different groups will watch your audition and then call you back to audition for their group later that week. After the callbacks have taken place, offers to join a specific group will be sent to you on the following Saturday at 10:00am. Each of our 11 groups would love to have you join their ranks, so go check out our "Groups" page to learn more about each of these amazing ensembles!

Second, consider joining Audacity! Audacity is a non-auditioned, open-enrollment a cappella group that performs right alongside all the other groups in the club. This means you don't have to worry about auditioning, and you can join at (almost) any point in the semester! Audacity meets every week on Tuesdays during clubs night from 7-8pm in the Varsity Theatre. With rehearsals only 1 hour once a week, Audacity is a great place for new singers to learn more about a cappella and prepare for the next round of General Auditions!
Third, sometimes groups still have open spots even after auditions are over! If there's a particular group you would love to be a part of, don't be afraid to shoot them a DM over Instagram or send them an email and ask if they have any openings. Who knows? You could be singing in the group of your dreams sooner than you think!
